How To Clean Sex Toys?

Many people, particularly those with young children, often have difficulty maintaining clean sex toys.

Because most toys are made of porous materials, especially toys made from soft rubber, they can become dirty very quickly. The most common cause of this is bacteria growing on the surface. If you clean your sex toys regularly, however, this shouldn't be a problem.

The first step in regularly cleaning your sex toys to remove any leftover bacteria is determining if they're made from non-porous or porous materials. The former have tiny little holes that let tiny bacteria, like yeast, bacteria, and even other foreign organisms, live inside of them, even after they've been cleaned down. These microorganisms live in the gaps between the materials, and they will often grow after you've used the toy once. If you're unsure whether or not the toy is porous, look at the packaging - if it's not a skin-friendly product, don't buy it.

Non-porous toys are made using materials that are not absorbent enough to allow these foreign organisms to latch onto them. Therefore, there's no way for the microorganisms to survive after cleaning. You can clean sex toys made with non-porous materials by using a combination of warm water and white vinegar. You can also use a product such as Purell on these toys to help remove any remaining microorganisms.

If you clean your toys with tepid water and soap, you should be able to remove the majority of the microbes from them. However, there may be a few stubborn bugs or organisms left behind. These are generally hardy critters such as chafed roaches or some types of fungus. To remove them from your new toys, you should take them to a store that specializes in nontoxic cleaning supplies. Typically, these stores have wide-toothed comb tools, which are fine for removing these organisms.

Glass is one of the easiest materials to clean. As long as you're willing to soak it in a bucket of hot water and then let it dry, you shouldn't have any problems cleaning it. To clean glass toys, you should first unplug them and then gently shine a damp cloth over the glass surface. Many people choose to leave the glass clean until it is time to store it away for the season. During that time, you can simply replace the batteries or replace the body with a new one.

Some people opt to clean their vibrators instead. If you're going to do this, you should keep in mind that the vagina is quite porous. Therefore, anything that is soaked with oil, sweat or urine can potentially get inside and cause a yeast infection. The most common way to clean a vibrator is by using a sanitized towel. Simply wipe the outer part of the toy, being careful not to touch the sensitive parts near the head or bottom. This will prevent you from introducing additional bacteria to the surface. A good choice for cleaning a dildo is either rubbing alcohol or diluted mild soap. These two ingredients are all you need to clean a dildo without introducing bacteria into the surface. Be sure to rinse the toy off completely after you finish.

Using soap that contains antibacterial ingredients can be harmful to both you and the toy's skin. Therefore, it is better to save the antibacterial soap to clean other parts of your house, like the bathroom or kitchen sink.

If the toy made of rubber is tooiled, you can use a mixture of one cup of dish washing detergent in three quarters medium sized bath tub filled with warm water. Alsoo, read about water based lube here.

Allow the toy to dry for an hour, then soak it in a mixture of one cup of vinegar in half a gallon of hot water. Do not let the toys dry in the air because they can easily lose their shape.
